PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS DANCE.
Streamers of blue and gold, interwoven forming an overhead canopy, and shaded lights in delicate tones of pink were the decorations at St Saviour’s Hall, Queen Street, last evening, when a plain and fancy dress dance was held in aid of the Sydenham Free Kindergarten. The committee responsible for the arrangements were untiring in their efforts. Reg Woods's orchestra supplied the music for the dancing. The winners of the fancy dress competition were:— Fancy dress, ladies—Miss M. Watts (Dainties Chocolate Girl) 1: Mrs Tinker (Spanish Dancer) 2; Miss Iv. Pratt (Boy Blue) 3. Most original—Miss Newman (Sun Football Competition) 1; Miss Deering (Spider's Web) 2. Fancy dress men—R. Dredge (Me* phistophles), 1; W. Jones (Spanish Dancer) 2; H. Smith (Admiral) 3. Most original men—N. Harper (Wood's Flour) 1; D. Fabian (Golliwog) 2.
