Reports from the whole countryside indicate phenomenal floods and extensive damage. The first fatality so far reported is the death of Mrs Barrington, of Cottesloe, who stepped on a live wire blown down by the gale and was electrocuted . All the country train services are still suspended. The trans-continental service has also been cancelled until weather conditions improve
