HUGE ’PLANE HOVERS ALMOST STATIONARY.
IMPORTANT CHANGE MADE IN CONSTRUCTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. anti N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, July 20. A huge Handley-Page torpedo carrier, during trials, hovered almost stationary in the air as the result of adjustable slotted wings, which prevent the nose dropping when the engine is shut off. It is believed that by this means’ aeroplanes w-ill be able to land on the deck of ordinary warships.
