COMING-OF-AGE.

Mr and Mrs Herbert Brett, of Ferry Road, Lin wood, recently entertained about fifty guests in the Leyden Street Hall. The evening was in celebration of the coming-of-age of their youngest daughter. Edith Frances. The hall was artistically decorated with mauve, green and yellow streamers. The birthday cake was ornamented with twenty small kewpies and a larger one in the centre, dressed in green and silver in keeping with the dress worn by the guest of the evening. The usual toasts were honoured, and Miss Brett was presented with a large gold key by Mr P. M. L. Shepjjard. During the evening Mr M. Edmonds gave a song and also a humorotis recitation. Music was supplied by Mr C. Wells's Orchestra. Miss Brett wore a becoming dress of pale green crepe de chine and silver lace, and was the recipient of many presents.
