FINE CAST PLAYS VIRILE DRAMA.

“ THE WHITE DESERT ” SHOWING AT GRAND. A picture that includes in its cast such well-known "-names as Pat O'Malley, Robert Frazer and Ciaire Windsor must naturally have a strong story for such stars to work upon. This is the case at the Grand Theatre next week, when the Metro-Goldwyn film, "The White Desert,” will be shown. This is outstandingly a virile, rugged type of story, which opens with adventure and concludes with as thrilling a climax as has ever been brought to the screen. Romance is there, too, out in the wilds of the Rockies, a flower that has a hard struggle for existence, but thanks to the dynamic energies of Pat O’Malley it. blossoms triumphantly. "The White Desert,” as a piettire, is comprised mainly of two gripping attributes, tingling thrills and the tenderest romance, and they make the film the splendid piece of entertainment it is. The acting of the principals is at all times admirable. The second picture is "Racing Luck,” a melo-dramatic comedy of purest ray serene, in which Monty Banks, as an Italian immigrant in America, is at his hilarious best in the leading role. The title typifies action, but it is necessary to see the picture before an adequate idea can be formed of the breathless speed of this delightful comedy. Helen Ferguson plays opposite the star, and is a charming heroine. The Grand Quality Orchestra will be heard in special orchestral numbers. The box plans are at the Bristol Piano Company, where seats may be reserved.
