“SHORE LEAVE” WILL BE SEEN AT QUEEN'S.

BETTY COMPSON PLAYS IN EMOTIONAL ROLE. Two interesting films will be shown at the Queen's Theatre next week, when "Shore Leave.” Richard Bartheliness's great starring vehicle for First National, will head the bill. This is delightful comedy, mainly at the expense of the rather nonplussed heroine, but the star succeeds in investing the story with drama of an exceptionally high character, thus lending artistic balance to the entire production. Although the title suggests a nautical influence on the story, a great deal of the action takes place on land, but the blending of the two existences helps greatly towards making the film as interesting and exciting as it is. Appearing in support of the star is Dorothy Mackafll. whose acting in finely tempered throughout. The second feature is the Paramount picture. "The Enemy Sex,” in which ’Betty Compson is starred. This story has a strong dramatic plot, full of tho vicissitudes of life as it is lived on Broadway, showing which is the enemy sex and why and when. A naturally emotional theme, the story is pleasantly lightened by comedy effects in which both the star and the supporting cast shine. Playing opposite Miss Compson are such well-known artists as Percy Marmont, Huntly Gordon and Kathlyn Williams. The box plans are at Webley’s, where seats may be reserved.
