REVUE DANCE.
The spirit of revelry and of carnival was infectious last night, when the members of the College Revue Company and their friends gathered at Dixieland in response to the invitation of Mr and Mrs B. Whitcombe and Mr and Mrs Dickson, who had combined forces to provide a delightful reunion for the company and the members of the Students’ Association executive. all of whom had helped t,o produce that mirth-provoking extravaganza, “ The Dogs.” Many of the guests wore the effective costumes they had worn at the theatre. There were ukulele girls galore, sailor boys and girls, and many fearsome specimens of humarfity. Marston’s Jazz Orchestra provided the music till the early hours of the morning. The lounge rooms were restful with many shaded lamps and special floral decorations. The members of the committee were the Misses Hall and R. Aschman; Messrs A. R. Dunlop, W. B. Leete, J. B. Price, F. W. Petre and W. Palmer (business manager). The two girls on the committee, Miss Roma Aschman and Miss Doris Ilale, wore pretty frocks of powder blue georgette, with rosettes edged with silver around the hem of the skirt and a silver girdle, and rose-pink georgette respectively. During supper, which was served at small tables, gay with flowers, many toasjs were honoured, that of “ The King ” being proposed by the chairman and business manager, Mr L. R. Palmer. “ The Management” was proposed by Mr W. Brydon and replied to by Mr Palmer; “The Company and Orchestra,” by Mr A. P. Dunlop and replied to by Mr W. B. Harris, Miss N. Biltcliff and Mr Keane. The health of the producer was proposed by Mr W. B. T. Leete, and responded to by Mr A. C. Rendle. Mr S. P. Watson proposed the healths of Mr and Mrs B. Whitcombe, to which Mr Whitcombe responded on behalf of his wife and himself. Mr J. Lester complimented the authors and the programme committee, Mr W. Brassington, responding. The toast, “ Our Hosts ” was proposed by Mr F. Petre. to which Mr Dickson responded. As a mark of appreciation for her unfailing kindness, Mrs Dickson was given a bouquet of choice hot-house flowers, and Mr Dickson was presented with a silver-mounted pocket book from the members of the revue company. Among the dancers were: Air and Mrs Bazil Whitcombe, Mr and Mrs Dickson, Mr and Mrs A. C. Rendle, the Misses Anna Audibert, Roma Aschman, Doris Ilale, Jessie Clark, Nita Biltcliff, Winna Cox, T.
