X'olunteers offered from the suburbs of Christchurch, and all the material was delivered on the ground, some of it cut ready for erection, and the joinery and plumbing awaiting fitting. Ail early start was made, and. with the help the Ijfdies gave providing refreshments, the building rose rapidly, evening witnessing the completion of the framework and the nailing on of the weather boards. Considering the size of the building, 42ft by 22ft. and the shortness of the winter day, the performance was a very good one. ROXXHNG CLUB. It was decided to reply to the Canterbury Rowing Association that the club's colours were navy blue coat, with gold facings, and monogram on pocket. The secretary reported that Mr Rees had inspected the boats now in the sheds and reported that it would cost about £lO to place each in proper condition. The double sculler had been sent up to his workshop for repairs, and if the work was satisfactory, the other three boats would be done when the club had the funds.
