Dr M’Killop, the well-known dog breeder, late of Dunedin and now resident in Christchurch, intends going in for pigeons on a large scale. This breeder will be a decided acquisition to the fancy.

The writer called on Mrs F. W. Anderson. Risingholme, Opawa, and inspected her latest importation of English White Leghorns. The birds look well and have settled down in their new quarters. The females are particularly good ones, they being in full lay at present. Fanciers of this variety would do well to see these birds. They will be a valuable addition to the breeders, as we were badly in need of new blood. The Lyttelton Fanciers’ Club have elected Mr F. Dacre an additional judge at their show. He will adjudicate on the Rhode Island Reds, Utility Anconas and all Bantams other than game. The Canterbury Bantam Club met on Monday night, Mr J. D. Gobbe presiding over a large attendance. Four new members were elected. Mr J. H. B. Chegwin will give a lecture on the mating of Black Roseoombs at the next meeting of the Bantam Club in June. As the 1927 show will be the Jubilee Show of the Christchurch Poultry Club, it is intended to make it worthy of the occasion. The pigeon fanciers have started already and have secured some very valuable special prizes to compete for.

WOOLSTON POULTRY CLUB.

The following is the result for the .month of May of the "Woolston Tanneries Utility Poultry Club's single bird egg-laying competition:—

HEALTHY MOULTING. The strain of the moulting season must be counteracted by giving better food to your hens. Enriched blood assists a luxurious growth of plumage, and an early laying start. Singer's Egg Producer contains all necessary ingredients to purify and enrich the blood stream and quickly gets the birds over the moult. Stimulating and nourishing, it means a full egg basket over a long season. 2s a large packet at all stores, or write Geo. Bonnington, Ltd., High Street, Christchurch. 25
