MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. On a charge of drunkenness, a statutory first offender was fined 10s. in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. REMANDED. Louisa Beale was charged with that, not being a member of the New Zealand Police Force, she offered a bribe to a member of the Police Force to forego his duty. She was also charged with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. A remand until May 10 was granted. CIVIL BUSINESS. UNDEFENDED CASES. Fox was ordered to pay James Knight the sum of £1 15s, in default two da3's’ imprisonment. J. M. Gierahosski was ordered to pay P. A. Aldersley the sum of £ls 0s sd, in default sixteen days’ imprisonment. LYTTELTON. (Before Mr F. G. Norton, J.P.) James Henry Massey, a member of the crew of the Korean Prince, who was arrested on a "warraht last evening, appeared on a charge of obstructing Constable Irwin in the execution of' his duty. Evidence was given by the police that accused interfered with Constable Irwin while he was arresting another man. A fine of 20s was imposed.
