WAIAU RETURNED SOLDIERS RE-UNITE

The annual reunion of the Waiau Returned Soldiers’ Association, which took the form of a dinner, was held in the Public Hall on Saturday. A large number of guests attended, the function, the arrangements for which were in the capable hands of Mr A. G. Creed (secretary). The floral decorations were carried out under the supervision of Mr A. Dampier Crossley. The chair was occupied by Captain G. Reid and among the visitors were Mr G. W. Forbes. M.P.. and Mr H. J. Knight, president of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association. Mr Reid referred to the loss since the last re-unlon of the late Colonel R. A. ChafTey, and a motion of sympathy was carried in silence. The chairman welcomed Mr G. W. Forbes, M.P., and the members of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers* Association.
