LINWOOD LEAGUE CLUB PROTESTS AGAINST MOYLE RESIGNATION

SYDENHAM DECISION TO BE SUPPORTED.

At the meeting of the Linwood Rugby League Club last evening correspondence already published was received from the Sydenham Club in reference to tho recent actions of the Canterbury Rugby League. It was decided to support the Sydenham Club in its resolution. with the exception that the Linwood Club considered that it was in the best interests of the code to take an active part jn the competitions. The meeting was in full accord with the Sydenham Club that the clubs should elect their own representatives to the Board of Control. It was also decided that the action of the New Zealand Council in requesting the resignation of the former secretary, Mr W. S. E. Moyle, without giving any reason, should be strongly resented and that the Canterbury Rugby League should forw'ard the protest of the Linwood Club to the council. Mr J. Underwood stated that the position was such that had a full meeting of the whole of the players been called the resignation of the sccretary wouid not have been accepted.
