ENGINEER DROWNED AFTER DANCE.

T*6r Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 15. Gordon Louis Anserine, aged thirtyfour, second engineer on the cable steamer Iris, was drowned at Waiwera on Sunday. He was on a cruise in a launch with three other men. He attended a dance, and left about 12.30 .o’clock to board the launch. Ansenne went down the steps to untie the pain ter and slipped and fell into the water, probably striking his head on the steps. When he was recovered life was extinct.
