HEAVY WORK FOR CITY COUNCIL ON MONDAY.

For its first meeting since December 21, wljpn it adjourned for its annual long vacation, the City Council will be faced with very voluminous reports when it assembles on Monday night. Altogether there are fifty-seven pages of reports, probably the heaviest that have been presented at any meeting of the council. The Abattoir and Reserves Committee’s report consists of twenty-four clauses, the By-Laws and Finance Committee’s report of twentythree clauses, the Electricity Committee’s of eight clauses and the Works and Sanitary Committee’s of twentythree ' dlauseS. There are also a large number of special reports dealing with important questions affecting the city.
