N.Z. LEAGUE TEAM TO TOUR ENGLAND.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 14, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 13. The special New Zealand tour subcommittee of the Rugby League has decided that the New Zealanders shall travel aboard the Tainui, arriving at Southampton on September 4. Their English headquarters will be West Park Hotel, Harrogate, where the Australians stayed. Mr Wilson, the League secretary, is circularising clubs asking if they require fixtures with the tourists, and whether they prefer Saturday or midweek dates. The terms for club games have been fixed at 70 per cent of the receipts for the tourists and 30 per cent for the home club. The terms for representative games are 65 per cent for the tourists and 35 per cent for the League or the county union concerned. The Rugby League is financing the tour, but 75 per cent of the profits will be handed to the New Zealand League, who promise to spend the money in furthering the game in the Dominion. None will be used for the payment of bonuses to the tourists.
