The question whether New Zealand flax is capable of producing fibre with eotton-lik© spinning qualities has been many years in the minds of flaxmillers in this country. While it remains to be seen whether such fibre would stand up to the 6train imposed on cotton thread goods, some progress has been made in that an invention lias been iieiToeted for ; the production of fibre.
