OPAWA CLl'B. The annual meeting of the Opava Boiling Club was held 1n the club’s pavilion last Saturday evening, when the president, Mr A. E. Talbot, presided over a good attendance of members. In moving the adoption of th© annual report the president congratulated the members on the splendid position of the club, there being a record number of members during the past year. The green had been in exceptionally good condition, and nil the club competitions were very keenly contested. The thanks of the ciub were specially accorded to the ladies, who during the past season had provided and dispensed afternoon tea. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in an excellent financial position, £IOO special donations from the members having been paid off the bank overdiaft, which now stands at £B3, this being the only liability, and the assets being valued at £IO6O. The ground superintendents, Messrs Stesns and Munns, were congratulated on the state of the green, and it was also decided to send a. letter of appreciation and congratulation to Air Coffey on the manner in which he had performed his duties as green-keeper. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr Frisk: vicepresidents. Messrs Ar©hbnld and Owatkin; secretary, Air 'Wilkinson: treasurer, Air Hillary: green superintendents, Messrs Steans and Munns; selection committee, Messrs - Archbold, Ttollinson and Wilkinson: general committee, Messrs Evans. Tanner, Weakly, Blackwell and Vogel: finance, Messrs Bruce, Cleans and Hillary; delegate to centre, Mr F. Pen berth y. Tt was decided to recommend to the centre that, the play during the coming season should be friendly games arranged by the centre. Tli© outgoing president, Air Talbot, presented the prir.es won during the year as follow*. Champion sngLs, F. and W. TTaigli; champion rink. "Wilkinson, Cragg. Brown and West; runnerup champion singles, T. ,l. Wallis;' junior rinks, Munns, Sutton. Worsley and Tanner: handicap singles. V insen, handicap doubles, Hillary and Good; progressive games, Limas. Wright, Hillary, Iveys, Tanner, .Bonnirigton, Archbold. A most enthusiastic meeting was cloyed with hearty vote? of thanks to th© outgoing president and officers for the past year.
