CHAIN-LETTERS.
GOING THE ROUNDS AGAIN. ( hain-lctter fiends are again at work in Christchurch, and that a number of people have allowed their superstition to get the better of their judgment, and have acceded to the request contained in the letters is evident. Many people have been pestered with them of late, and as the letters have been found to be in the same phraseology it is assumed that they arc of the same chain. A C hristchurch business man recently received one, which ran as follows: Oli Lord have mercy upon me. and let Thy loving Grace be upon all nations and upon us ail -This prayer I was sent to me. and is to go all round the world: it was sent in the time of Jesus and all who pass it by shall meet with misfortune. Copy this out ami send to ten persons in ten days, and tin the eleventh day sonic great joy shall come to your home. Please do not break the chain. Sign no name, only time received and sent. Received June 9. Sent June 15. The chain is now broken.
