OPENING THE BRIDGE.
ORDER OF CEREMONY. The following is the order of ceremony at the opening of the Bridge of Remembrance to-morrow (Armistice Day):— 10 a.m. Arrival of the Governor-Gen eral and inspection of the guard of honour. Introductory address by Mr A. Borrows, chairman of the Bridge of Remembrance Committee. Consecration of the bridge by Axchbisho,* Julius. Hymn, ** O God, Our Help in Ages Past.'* Address by Colonel H. Stewart, president of the Returned Soldiers’ Association. Presentation by Mrs J. Wyn Irwin to the Mayor of a letter from the committee handing over the memorial to the city. Address by the Mayor. Address by The Prim© Minister for. in his absence, by Sir Heaton Rhodes, Minister of Defence). Address by the Governor-General, who will then cut the ribbon at each end and declare the bridge open. National Anthem. March across the bridge by the returned soldiers, headed by the regimental i»and. The Governor-General will take the salute at the archway. Passing down Durham Street, the parade will return via Oxford Terrace and recross the bridge, thus symbolising the departure and return of troops in the Great War.
