FOOTBALL.

THE ASSOCIATION GAME. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Football Association was held last night. Present—Messrs W. D. Ilamsay (in the chair). (J. Keecli. R. Ladbrooks. W. Doans. A. C. Sharman. J. A. Robb, F. Crowder, F. L. Eastgate C. Mullan and W. Whittington. A very comprehensive report was received from Mr -1. S. Ainsworth, referee of the Sunnyside-Keacliff Chatham Cup match, played at English Park on Wednesday last. The English Park Sports Association wrote granting the use of English Park for the English Cup final on Saturday. A letter was received from the South Canterbury Football Association regretting the inability of the Canterbury Association to send a team south this season. It was resolved to arrange a fixture with the South Canterbury Association early next season. Permission was granted to the Boys’ Association to play a fifth grade representative match, Canterbury v. The Rest, at Lyttelton on Saturday next. The committee made a recommendation to the Referees’ Association that Mr George Black should be appointed referee for tho English Cup final at English Park on Saturday. The Classification Committee reported that it had approved of the transfer of 1. T. Catto from Mornington (Dunedin) to Rangers. The action of the committee was endorsed. A special committee recommended that cautions be administered to the players who had violated the rules of the association. Matches for Saturday next are as follow : English Cup Final—Nomads v. Sunnyside, English Park, 3.15 p.in. Watson Cup Final—Technical Old Boys’ T. St Albans, English Park. 1.45 p.m.
