AUCKLAND TROTS.
(Special to the ** Star.”) AUCKLAND, September 29. The local trotting tracks are nowvery busy, in view of the approaching The nominations constitute a record and include horses from Australia, all parts of the North Island and many South Island stables. \ The course proper at Epsom is in perfect order and a great meeting is anticipated. The Australian trainer, C. Rokkjer, is expected io arrive from Sydney this week with a team which will include Rock Allen and Stvle. Rokkjer was over here last year for the Auckland summer meeting and won a couple of races with Rock Alien. J. J. Kenny is expected to return from Sydney this week with Lord Nepean, who has been racing on the other side during the winter. A. J. Julian has a useful team, including The Texan, Mint Boy, Logon Queen, Haricot and Pyramus. These horses all look bright and have been working very satisfactorily- The Texan is only a young pacer and lie does everything rigid. Julian lias been very patient with him and should receive. his reward. J. Shaw has been busy with Florrie Bingen, Dreamalion, Gold Flake arid Darknite. The first named has only j been nominated in sprints at the coming meeting, hut Dreamalion is entered for the leading events. Shaw’s team all look well. R. Mi lien has Wimmora King in good shape. The Australian bred trotter has been working well. AY. Orange has been paying plenty of attention to Andes. Brendo and The Squire, who are the best conditioned of his team at p resen t. Orange has a- well mannered youngster by Our Thorpe from Nora-h Creina, who promises to develop into a good pacer.
