Mr Allan, leader of tlie Country Party, in the State Assembly, is discomfited over the action of the Governor in sending lor the leader of the Labour Party (Mr G. M. PrendergasL) to form a Ministry. Prior _o the defeat of the Government Mr Allan declined to listen to overtures from Sir Alexander Peacocks followers that ho should forestall Mr Prendvrgast in challenging the Ministry, apparently believing that whatever happened the Governor would send tor him. Militant members of the Country Party express gratification at the advent of Labour to office. If the moderate members headed by Mr Allan assume an attitude hostile to Labour, the party will be disrupted.
