DENTAL CLINIC.

WANTED FOR PAPANUI. An encouraging reception was give-i this morning by the Education Boar'i to a. request that it should use its influence in the direction of securing a I dental clinic at the new school which j to bo erected a Papanui. I A deputation from the schools in the j Papanui district asked that the board I should use its influence in securing, j when the new school was built, accommodation for a dental clinic. The people in the district would see that the cost of maintaining the room would be met. Mr Good, representing the Marshland ftohool, said that there was great need in the district for a dental clinic. Where children had to be brought. to town a great loss of time wa,s involved. A clinic at Papanui would l>e of great benefit to Belfast, Gambia and Marshland. and also, perhaps, lor Waimairi. The chairman (Mr H. J. BignelD saic| there was no doubt- that the board would back up the request. There had been cases in the past where the committees had been obliged to provide the clinics themselves. He advised the deputation to w r ait on. the Health Department and endeavour to enlist its sympathy in the matter. After the deputation had withdrawn it was resolved that the request be er f erred to tho Buildings Committee, to be taken into consideration when the building of the new school is being undertaken.
