PARIS, July 17. j Olympiad results are:— SWIMMING—--100 metres—lirst semi-final—Weismuller (U.S.A.) 1, Charl- | (Australia) 2, Smith (U.S.A.) 3. Time—smin 13 3-ssec. I Neither Weismuller nor Charlton extended himself. Second semi-final—Arne Borg- (Sweden) 1, A. K. Borg (Sweden) 2, J. Hatfield (England) 3. Time—smin 21 2-ssec. Beaurepaire was a non-starter. The final will be swum to-morrow afternoon. SCULLING— The sculling final resulted—Beresford (Britain) 1. Gilmore I (America) 2, Schneider (Switzerland) 3. Bull (Australia) re- ! tired after covering three quarters of the course. SPRINGBOARD DIVING— The final was won bi White (America). Eve (Australia) was placed fifth. TENNIS— Fourth round—Miss McKane (England) beat Miss Jessup (U.S.A.) 6-2, 6-0. Fifth round—Vincent Richards (America) beat Uacoste (France) 8-6, 4-6, 1-6, 6-2. and 6-3.
