SUMNER CAUSEWAY.

REPAIRS PUT IN HAND. During the winter, the Sumner tramvay causeway has suffered severely as the result of tlie high tides. This morning the general manager of tramways, Mr Frank Thompson, said that arrangements were well ahead for making permanent repairs. A new fare has been opened on the board’s quarry in order to get the rock required, and an application has. been made to the Railway Department for the use of a portable crane, which can be used on the board’s track at the quarry and on tlie causeway. As yet, no reply has been received from the Railway Department.
