Tt was resolved that a letter of appreciation should be sent to Miss Budden. who has served for thirty-two years under the board. APPOINTMEXTS COM MI TT HIE. The Appointments Committee reported dpector regarding the proposed disestablishment of the Model School at Phillipstovn. Tt was resolved to suggest that action should be deferred until one of the portable schools in the district was available for erection on the infant school site. A circular had been received from the Department asking for a list of uncertificated teachers employed and information as to action the board proposed to take to fill the positions with qualified teachers. The Appointment Committee suggested that the matter should he held over for further consideration. A circular had been received from the Department drawing attention to the necessity for limiting the attendance at new schools and at schools the status of which had been raised from a side school to a main school when there was accommodation available in adjacent school buildings. Letter had ben received from several school committees suggesting that the roll number be substituted for average attendance for purposes of tlie Education Act and its regulations. A deputation had asked for the establishment of a side school at Islington.
