BOWLING.
CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The annual meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Club was held last n ght. There was an attendance of mor(Pthan thirty members, the president (Dr J. O. Pairman) occupying the chart*. The directors, in their annual report, congratulated members on a highly successful season. The treasurer's balance showed a surplus of receipts over- expenditure of £76 9s 3d, and it was proposed to ask nlembers to vote towards the liquidation of the mortgage necouut the eum of £SO, together, with the profit from the sale of refreshments, £9 16s 3d. During the past season thirteen new members had been elected, and six had resigned, leaving_ roll number at present of eighty-four. It was hoped that members individually would do their best to secure further enrolments. A special vote of thanks was due to those ladies who assisted the committee on the first Saturdays of the season. Thanks were also due to Mr W. M. Gibb for taking charge of the commissariat during the latter half of the year. To the match committee and the sole selector grateful thanks were due. The Cardial thanks of the club were also due to the green suprintpndents and to Mr J. H. Seager. who gave advice and assistance in levelling and top-dressing the green. He had ?ent in an exhaustive report ’cn the maintenance and condition of playing surface. The match commiftee submitted a report on the contests of the year. The reports and balance-sheet were adopted. The election - of officers resulted as follows President., Mr O. H. Piper j Messrs A Dick=on and C. D. Hardie; secretary. Mr J. Q. Jameson (with an associate secretary to bo appointed by the directors); treasurer, Mr C. J. Atkinson; directors. Dr A. J. Orchard, Messrs W. S. Newburgh. G. Lewis and W. Helliwell; match committee, Messrs G. Lewis and W. Helliwell; delegate to centre, Mr A. Dickson; auditor. Mi' T. Newburgh. The prizes won during last season were presented by the pres; dent. The principle of the daylight-eawng scheme was affirmed, and it was resolved to recommend the centre to give the proposal its hearty support. Votes of thanks were then passed to the ladies ana to the retiring officers.
