At the annual meeting of the Canterbury Caledonian Society last night the following note was read from Lady Denniston :—“I sincerely thank tha directors of the Canterbury Caledonian Society for their kind thought of me—the beautiful flowers, not forgetting the heather—and their kind wishes for mv recovery, all of which J appreciate deeply, and am much touched. I’m thankful to say I’m beginning to r : ? cover.” The chairman (Mr C. S. Thomas) explained that Lady Denniston had been in very bad health for some time, and the directors had sent her a bouquet of flowers and some heather. together with a note expressing the hope that J.ady Denniston wo-iii soon recover.
