ABORTIONIST SENTENCED. Pck Press Association;. DjJNEDIN, May 14. In the Supreme Court George Arthur Kelly, aged thirty-one, an ex-medical student, and Richard Pohora Edmonds appeared before Mr Justice Heed for sentence for procuring abortion. Ip sentencing Kelly to three years’ imprisonment with hard labour, followed by two years’ reformative de tention, the Judge stated that it was quite clear that the prisoner was mixed up with another man in establishing a business as an abortionist. Edmonds, who was recommended to mercy by the jury, was sentenced to three months’ hard labour.
