OLYMPIC FUND.

HELP FROM SWIMMING CLUBS. At a special meeting of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association held last evening, the matter of raising funds to defray the cost of participation by Miss Gwitha Shand and E. C. Heard at the Olympic Games and the British Empire Exhibition games was discussed, and means were decided on for assisting the campaign that is now being conducted. All the affiliated clubs gave assurances of their co-operation in the effort. . It was decided that the centre donate £2O to the fund. At the meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union last night it was decided to vote £lO 10s to the Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association towards the expense of sending Miss Gwitha Shand and C. Heard to the Olympic Games.
