A GOVERNOR IN GAOL.

FORGERY AND FRAUD. INDIANAPOLIS, April 29. W'arren M’Cray, who was serving a term of imprisouiment, recently got out of gaol long enough to write a pencil note to the Secretary of State, resigning his position as Governor of Indiana. An hour after his return to. his cell He came out again to hear himself sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for using the mails for fraudulent purposes. M’Cray has thus closed a remarkable business career. He schemed to make 10.000,000 dollars. He had five farms, where he raised purebred stock, and when ho needed funds he forged the name of the farm superintendents and other workmen to notes which the banks cheerfully cashed for such a great man.

Reverses came, however, and M’Cray was ruined.
