BEACH RACING.
Beach races were run by the Pioneer Sports Club at New Brighton this afternoon. Results:— * SIX-MILE MAIDEN HANDICAP. R. C. Muscliamp. 3J Zenith. 180seo . i S. J. Batt, Sj Norton, 60eec . . .2 E. R. Batt, 31 Norton, 800seo . . , g Time—24min 25 2-sseo. Polioe officers were present during the races, and th© names of the competitor* were being taken for speeding In a public plaoe. The names will be forwarded to police headquarters and any further action will be decided upon there. After the first raoe, a meeting of officials was held, and it waa decided to oontlnu© the races.
