YACHTING.
Two yacht races were conducted by the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Glub on Saturday afternoon in the outer harbour at Lyttelton. The race for second-class yachts was started at 3 p.m.. the first-cla3B yacht race being started fifteen minutes later. Owing to a number of yachtsmen being on holiday, the entries in both classes were small. The ayind was from ,the north west, light and very fluky. The results were as foUow:— SECOND-CLASS Y'ACHTS. At a meeting of the committee which has in_ hand the arrangements to send Canterbury’s representative to Wellington, it was decided to select five members to accompany the Linnet, and one delegate. The selection will be made at the nest meeting of the association.
