MINISTERIAL. Sir Heaton Rhodes, Minister of Defence, came over from the West Coast yesterday. At Rolleston he left the express and motored to his home. Otahuna, -where he will spend the Christmas holidays. , The Hon W. Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs and Industries and Commerce, was a member of the ministerial papv which arrived from the West Co'st last evening. .Mr Stewart stayed in Christchurch last night and this morning left for Dunedin. He will not return north till after the holidays. g The Hon W. Nosworthy (Minister for Agriculture) arrived back in Wellington from tho Hawke’s Bay district yesterday
Mr Justice Hardman, of Auckland, is spending a few days in Christchurch . Air R. AI. Laing, B.Sc. (Christchurch), whose name was included in the list, published on Thursday of New Zealand ecientists who will form a.n expedition to the Chatham Islands in the new year, will not, owing to other engagement^ 1 , be able to make the trip.
