A deputation of shipowners protested to tho Hon A. Chapman against tho proposed removal of the quarantine 51 r Hughes.*of the Union Company, emphasised the victualling difficulty in the event of protracted quarantining. He remarked that over 1000 persons would need catering for if, sav, the Niagara were detained. Mr Chapman said that Cabinet held no pro-determined convictions in the matter and every aspect of the question would be considered.
