THE LATE MRS P. SELIG.
THE FUNERAL. The funeral of th© lat© Airs Kate Selig, wife of Air P. Selig, who until lately was manager of the Christchurch “ Press ” Company, took place at the Limvood Cemetery yesterday. A large number assembled to pay their last tribute of respect. The Jewish community of Christchurch was largely represented. Representatives of the Christchurch newspapers, of various business firms in the City, of the New Zealand Trotting Association, of which Air Selig was president, and of the trotting clubs of Christchurch were also present, as well as a large number of employees of the Christchurch ‘‘Press” Company. Tho hearse was heaped with numerous beautiful floral j tributes and immediately behind the hearse there followed a motor-car filled with wreaths. The chief mourners were Air P. Selig. Air J. Mendelsohn, of Dunedin (brother), and Air O. Joseph - son (son-in-law). Alessrs E. Boulton. J. Ball in. Aloss Ballin, A. Rose, S. Jacobs, O. Josephson, S. van der Molen and J. Hollander acted as pall bearers. The burial service was conducted bv the Rev JX Scliloss, Jewish Rabbi. Amongst those present were : Alessrs A. AI. In addition to the wreaths hundred* of telegrams were received from all over the Dominion and Australia, and many letters of sympathy were received from-New Zealand friends. Amongst those who sent telegrams were the directors of the Wellington ‘‘ Post.” the. Darned in “ Star.” the Greymoutk “ Star ” and many others newspaper offices in New Zealand, the secretary of th© Alaster Printers’ Association (Auckland), and the New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors’ Association. Over 200 wires were received from private friends.
