WEDDING.
HAMILTON—WHITFIELD. A wedding was solemnised at St Paul’s Church, Cashel Street, on Thursday by the Rev Norman A\ rehster, the bride being Dorothy Muriel, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs 11. E-. AVhitfield, of St Albans, and the bridegroom, Arthur William, youngest son of Mr and Mrs R. Hamilton, Rossmore Terrace, Cashmere. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock of brocaded satin made on simple lines and caught at the waist with a pearl ornament. A dainty train was -hung from the shoulders, and her hand-embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a circlet of orange blossom. Her toilette was completed with a shower bouquet of freesias and maidenhair fern. Airs C. Manhire, sister of the bride, who attended as matron of honour, was attired in a frock of grey marccain with sleeves of cherry coloured georgette. She wore a chic hat of cherry coloured georgette, and carried a bunch of rhododendrons of the same shade as her hat. Mr George Hanham acted as best man. The church had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride with rhododendrons, Japanese azaleas, and maples and- tall palms, and Mr Raynor White presided at the organ A reception was held later at Ballantyne’s. A special feature was a table arranged for the nieces and j nephews of the. bride and bridegroom,, the decorations being pink antirrhiniums and foliage, interspersed with a goodly array of bon bans to match. The guests were received by Mrs Whitfield, who wore a smart navy costume and a hat to rjiatch, and carried a bouquet of crimson ranunculus. Airs Hamilton, mother of the bridematch, and carried a bouquet of ranunJ cuius and foliage. , When Mr and Mrs Hamilton left for their honeymoon, which is being spent in the North Island, the bride wore a smart three-piece suit of navy and white, with a chic hat. to match in the same colouring, finished with white ospreys. __
