EARTHQUAKE PHOTOS.

THE FIRST FROM JAPAN. APPEAR IN THE “ STAR.” The tf Star ” was the first Christchurch paper to print photographs showing the havoc caused by the earthquake in Japan. The photographs arrived in Vancouver on September 15 by the liner President Jefferson, and were printed in Vancouver on September 17. They were posted l>v special arrangement to the “ Star ” in time to connect with the mail leaving San Francisco on September 21. The pictures arrived in Christchurch yesterday, and duly appeared in the “ Star.”
