BLOSSOM TIME.

FLOWERING APPLES, PEARS

AND CHERRIES.

It is a case of blossoms,. blossoms all the way just now. At no time does Christchurch earn the right to wear the name of the Garden City more richly than in the early spring. The pear trees are loaded with snowy blossoms, and vagrant breezes bring down showers of fluttering petals. Plum trees are glorious in their glad array, and chferry trees are beautifully * adorned. The Japanese flowering cherries have not reached their maximum, but they give promise of flowery splendour in the near future.

This year a flowering apple is amongst the most admired of the blossoming trees. It has a vivid rich pink blossom, and is exceedingly beautiful. The pear trees, however, are glorious in their white robes.
