ALLEGED THEFT.
BOARD SECRETARY BEFORE COURT. Per Press Association-. THAMES. October 1. Norman Gibbs, secretary to the Thames Harbour Board, was charged at the Police Court that he did receive certain moneys on terms requiring him to account for the same to the board and that he did fraudulently convert the same to his own use, thereby committing theft. He was remanded till October 5. Bail was allowed in £3OO.
It is understood that there are some twenty other charges to follow involving about £230. Hie Government Auditor has not finished his investigation.
