The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that a curious commentary on the present situation is furnished by the unveiling of a war memorial at Dobartz, Spandau, in celebration of the ex-Crown Prince’s birthday. Marshal von Hindenburg, in a speech, said: “ With joy and pride w« think in fidelity, love, and veneration of our most, gracious Kaiser, king and lord, our illustrious leader in our superhuman struggle for the honour and existence of the Fatherland ” Herr Gessler, Minister for Defence, 36 a comical anti-climax, said: “We concentrate in vowing the most faithful fulfilment of our duty to the German nation, State and Republic.” The correspondent adds: “Herr Gieasler has long played with reactionary fire, and now has burned his fingers. There will be a great rumpus over his participation in the6e monarchist demonstration s. ”
