GRAND THEATRE.
An adaptation of Sir Hall Caine’s stirring story “The Christian” is being shown at the Grand Theatre. The adaptation has a particular value, sentimentally and otherwise, on account of the fact that the author’s son, Derwent Hall Caine, in it takes the part of John Storm, and takes it with remarkable ability as an actor, and with a full appreciation of the character his father’s genius created. The photography, as well as the acting, is fir,st-clasß, every detail, evidently, having been given studied attention. In the second part of the programme “ Dinty ” provides a laugh or a thrill at every turn. In this success of Marshall Neilan. young Wesley Barry, better known as “ Freckles,” makes a highly romantic and picturesque newsboy king in an American city. In addition to these two big features, there is a genuinely humorous Mack Sennett comedy, ** Pa and Ma_” The programme will be repeated today and to-night.
