Tlie Minister of Internal Affairs has* given his consent to the postponement, of all elections in the Rangiora County for a week on account of the heavy floods. The Hon J. G Coates, PostmasterGeneral. has written to Mr G. Witty. M.P.. informing him regarding his suggestion that the property owned by Messrs Wise Tiros., and situated at th© corner of Riccarton Road and Rimu Street. Bower Riccarton. should be obtained as a site for the Riccarton Post Office, that the Public Works Department had been instructed to take steps to acquire the property. The department proposes to erect an automatictelephone exchange on the same property.
