Scotland Yard has given the French police a piece of damaging evidence against William Warren. It consists of a letter written by an Englishman named Ford, from Sante Prison, to 1 is “ Dear old pal.” notifying Warren of his arrest. r.nd asking him to send immediately an international money order for £l4 to cell 63. Santo Prison. The letter was addressed to the Cannon Street Post Office. Ford being unaware that Warren was, at the time, in an adjoining cell. Thus, Ford is revealed as one of Warren’s gang. William Warren, with his wife and another woman, was arrested at Paris on a charge of the alleged theft of ■OO,OOO francs in London. Warren was supposed to have belonged tp an international gang of thieves who are operating on the Continent. He was said to have resided at one time in Australia. After his arrest, he declared that his wife, who he claimed to have been divorced from a high Dominion personage, had been humiliated.
