CONDENSED NEWS.
OVERNIGHT SUMMARY. A deputation consisting of ministers irom Anglican. Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist Churches, supported by citizens and Salvationists waited on the Hon C. J. Parr in Auckland yesterday suggesting that bettor provisions should be made for the reception and treatment of border-line mental cases. The Minister expressed his approval of the suggestion and said such provision was very necessary because it had been shown that of the 218 patients' taken into tlie present reception homes only eleven had ultimately gone insane. At to-day’s meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, a welcome was extended by the chariman to Mr A!. J. Miller, a newly-elected member, who represents the boroughs of New Brighten. Sumner, Lyttelton and Akaroa, and the counties of Akaroa. Wairewa aud Art Herbert. He has replaced Air F. G. Norton.
