Of those elected. three—Messrs Cooke, Andrews and Williams—failed to secure the quota, their figures being : Cooke .... 954 Andrews . . . 942 Williams . , . 871 If Air M’Gregor "Wright’s preferences had been distributed it is probable that the quotas of these candidates would have been secured, Mr Lead ley was elected on the 155th effective count after the elimination of Air Charters. Mr M’Kellar was elected on the 172nd effective count. As compared with the old council, the parties have fared as follows: Gains. Losses. Citizens’ Association . 2 Labour Party . .
