OBITUARY.
FRANK BURGON STAN DISH. fPer, Press Association.) ASHBURTON, May 2. The death is announced of Mr Frank Burgon Standish, aged eightyseven. He arrived in New Zealand in 1844. The late Mr Standish claimed blood ties with the late Miles Standish, the leader of the Puritan fathers. He was a Maori War veteran with considerable war service in New Plymouth, and was ■a well-known pioneer in Canterbury.
