OVERDUE STEAMER.

NO WORD OF DOUGLAS MAWSON. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 10. 11.50 a.m.) BRISBANE, April 10. No tidings have been received of the steamer Dougla-s Mawson. The small wooden steamer Douglas Mawson, of 333 tons, is now nine days overdue from Burketown to Thursday Island. It is thought that the steamer encountered the cyclone at the end of March, the force of which no vessel of her class could stand.

The Navigation Department sent out the Karumba to search.
