MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
STAR OF CANTERBURY. A.O.F. The fortnightly meeting of the Court Star of Canterbury. No. 2309. Ancient Order of Foresters was held in the Foresters nail. Oxford Terrace. on Monday. Chief Ranger, llro. C. W. F. Higgott. presided over a good attendance of member* reports of the eiok visitor* were received and the sum of £l9 was passed for sick benefit*. During the evening the Installation of the Court officers for the ensuing term was conducted by the Chief Ranger who installed Bro. A. E. Alexander, the new C.R. into the chair. Bro Alexander then installed the subordinate officer* into their respective positions. Tbe fol lowing are the officers electedC.R Bro. A. F. Alexander. S.C.R Pro. F Pratt. S.W. Mro. W. Godfrey-. J-W. Bro. T. Doug las: B-B Pro W. Crawford; JR Bro. (' W. Pepperill: M.S. Bro. A. E. Lane. A S Bro. R. Jewiss. The election of a delegate to the District Appeal Committee took place and Bro. F. T. Eldridge. P.D.C.R was elected to fill tho position. The> secretary reported that Dr L. Crooke one of the Medical others of the Court, had resigned from his position as a Court Doctor, owiu* tb pressure of business and the resignation was accepted with regret, and several members spoke of the good work that Dr Crooke had done while he was connected with the Order. All election of delegates to the U.K.'S. Card Association look plaee during the evening and Bro W. A Weakley. P.D.C.R. and Bro. J. Newton. P-C.K were elected as delegates. One new candi
