FRANCE PREPARED.
PLANS COMPLETED FOR EVENTUALITIES. RUMOUR OF GERMAN RESISTANCE. By-^eleeTaph —Press Association—Copyright United So price. (Received January 18, 9 a.m.) LONDON, January 17. The Dusseidorf correspondent of the “ Daily Mail ” states that the French have completed plans for dealing with any situation that may arise. The belief prevails throughout the Ruhr area that an advance Is likely on Munster. It is rumoured that the forces of the Riechswehr there may attempt an armed opposition, but the madness of such an enterprise is apparent to anyone who has watched the march of the perfectly equipped French army with seventy-fives, howitzers, machine guns, armoured cars, and tanks following closely on the cavalry and infantry regiments. • REQUISITIONING TO COMMENCE. " The Times ” Service. (Received January 18, 9 a.m.) PARIS, January 17. In view of the German resistance, France has definitely determined to begin requisitioning on Wednesday, unless they agree to commence deliveries and the collection of the coal tax. France is also contemplating the establishment of a customs cordon round the Ruhr area, and the issue of a special municipal coinage for the Ruhr alone, the money presumably only to be issued in the event of the owners’ refusal to pay wages. ADVANCE TO BERLIN POSSIBLE. United Service. (Received January 18, 9 a.m.) LONDON, January 17. A prominent member of the French mission told the Dusseidorf correspondent of “ The Times “ There is nothing we are not prepared to do to oblige the industrialists to abandon their present attitude, even to go to Berlin if necessary.
